Hello world. I’m Alen, a Technical Writer who loves to learn and write about how things work.

In my early years, I was an NFL sportswriter for theScore, Bleacher Report, and NBC’s Rotoworld, where I published weekly columns about Xs and Os. I also wrote as a weekly guest contributor at Boston.com, explaining Bill Belichick’s schemes and game plans to readers. Think of it as technical sportswriting.

Later, I left sportswriting for production support and IT at a magazine publisher. My curiosity and love for words led to writing technical documentation when I had downtime during my IT career before moving into a role as a Technical Writer.

After work, I run The Periplous, a library of storytelling techniques that shows writers how to apply the craft of the classics.
